When Poetry Says It All

Quiet friend who has come so far,
feel how your breathing makes more space around you.
Let this darkness be a bell tower
and you the bell. As you ring,
what batters you becomes your strength.
Move back and forth into the change.
What is it like, such intensity of pain?
If the drink is bitter, turn yourself to wine.
In this uncontainable night,
be the mystery at the crossroads of your senses,
the meaning discovered there.
And if the world has ceased to hear you,
say to the silent earth: I flow.
To the rushing water, speak: I am.

From the organisers –
This new site has all the resources you need to take part in a ten part reading group which will help you get to grips with the basics of the financial crisis. Everything there is suitable for people with no prior knowledge of economics, but there’s plenty to think about for those who already know a bit. Most of the resources below are available online – just click the titles to bring them up. We’ve also added an estimated time needed to read or watch each item.
Big props to Adam and the whole team who have put this together. Great stuff.

While reading for my Marshall Ganz class on narrative, I came across this gem of framing.
The coming out process for LGBT people is moving from “powerlessness and passivity to insight, enlightenment and self-liberation”. Amen.
